Painting and Style

What is your style of painting? This is a question many ask you the first time they talk with you about painting and about your work

Answer: the painter must paint as he has “learnt”. And I say learn because “in the self-taught case”, he is teacher and student at the same time; and in the case of the academician, he is “taught” but it is him, and only him, the one that must learn.

And following the thread of which style? The different styles have been made up precisely by people that in general do not paint, but that want to classify everything they see and order it according to their criteria in trends or styles; even, many painters let themselves get carried along into the herd of this or that movement and they tag and criticize themselves.
