Philosophical Concept in Painting

When in a philosophical context someone alludes to painting or sculpture, or when dialoguing about the intrinsic and extrinsic of art the starting point is wrong as one tends to talk about the “philosophy of painting” and that can erroneously make us think that painting has a philosophy of its own; there is nothing further away from reality. The analysis that has to be carried out consists of how the artist philosophically conceives the concept of the work to be carried out so that that “thought” shows him the way to finish the work of art. That is why I stress the idea of not mistaking the terms, as painting “does not have” philosophy, but rather, the philosophical analysis is the path that will lead us to have a clear and defined concept of what the mind will transmit and “recall” the artist; who by using his hands will ultimately be the one that will physically carry out the work of art.
